Experience
As a career law enforcement officer, Chris has over 25 years experience enforcing the laws and statutes of North Carolina and United States Code. He worked with the bulk of his career in special assignments including narcotics detective / agent with a federal task force, canine handler and as a fugitive and missing person unit agent. He is currently a supervisor over a statewide task force for fugitive apprehension and missing person investigations for a state law enforcement agency. He has been recognized as an expert witness in his field which includes some of the topics he teaches including narcotics investigations, covert surveillance, cell phone analysis and other topics. Dawson worked as a patrol officer, narcotics detective, criminal agent, narcotics agent, DEA Task Force Officer and other positions in his career. Dawson holds the Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Law Enforcement Certification from NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards and is certified as a NC Criminal Justice Instructor. He has worked for national teaching companies and instructed law enforcement officers in more than 15 states of the union.
